LOST WALKS IS a group of artists partnering with wildlife organizations to help raise awareness, empathy, and action toward protecting wolves in their return to Colorado.

A fusion of visual art and education, their performances incorporate elements such as contemporary dance and film projection to craft immersive experiences as pathways to education. Beyond the stage, Lost Walks offers educational programming and workshops to dive deeper into the story.

Wolf, woman, Man

The bands debut album, Wolf, Woman, Man was released in 2016. It tells the story of a couple who moves into a desolate, mountain region and ultimately faces challenges from the elements, each other and a lone, injured wolf.

The subsequent album, Blood Lantern, was released in 2021 and portrays the prequel to the Wolf, Woman Man story. The story aligned with the call for reintroduction of the wolf to Colorado - diving deep into what coexistence would look like for our ecosystem.

Lost Walks’ live performances have featured visual and experiential elements such as art panels, film projection, and even beer pairings. Most notably, Lost Walks’ performances have stood out thanks to a team of contemporary dancers, whose choreography enhances and informs the band’s unfurling narrative.

Blood Lantern

The band’s 2021 album, Blood Lantern is a narrative prequel to Wolf, Woman, Man. While musically more complex and heavier than its predecessor, lyrically, Blood Lantern also dives deeper into the real world implications of wolf reintroduction and conservation. The album involves topics like trophic cascade, chronic wasting disease, and the extermination of wolves.

For the release of “Blood Lantern” Lost Walks has partnered with the Denver-based art magazine “Birdy” to release a series of artistic spreads that combine stunning visuals with the albums’s lyrics. Each spread will link to a website that unveils the album’s songs in batches and points to scientific data supplied by biologists and ecologists working within the field of wolf conservation.

Today

Lost Walks is currently working on a new video album and partnering with the City of Denver on an immersive and educational event to celebrate the return of the wolf with indigenous advocates from Cuetlachteptl.
